Sausage Balls

Ingredients:

  • sausage meat
  • cheese
  • various spices

Preparation:

First, the sausage, cheese, and spices need to be mixed together. Dump the ingredients into a bowl, and stick your hands in and mix the spices until it looks just right.

As I am mixing I see the face of a chocolate lab looking up at me with the biggest eyes ever. In his head I know he is thinking "ooooo I want some, gimmee gimmee some." I would always try not to give him any but it never failed that I would cave in and give him a few little bites. After I finish mixing the ingredients together until they look just right I give rebel (the chocolate lab) his few bites. He has accomplished his mission of getting his taste and goes to lay down on his bed beside the island.

Now that it is all mixed it is time to roll the mixture into balls and set them on trays. Once they are on the trays they go straight to the oven. Usually once they are in the oven I either get started on another recipe that needs to be cooked. I may also snack on some of the food that has already been prepared. I would always have the same excuse to eat the already prepared food "let me taste that to make sure it is safe to eat." This excuse always worked year after year. My mom knew what I was but let me get away with it anyways.

Once they are ready to be taken out of the oven remove them out and put them in a serving dish. This was always my favorite part because I could always steal a few and then Rebel and I would go have a snack. Rebel was always in the kitchen just waiting on someone to start cooking. If he heard someone go in the kitchen and he wasn't already in there he would be standing right beside you in a second.

One thing that keeps coming up in my mind id there was always something cooking during the holiday season. There was never a dull moment in the kitchen, either mom would get focused on something else and burn something. The other issue that would come up is an outside problem would come up such as, Rebel eating the turkey two Christmas's ago. That feeling of something of something always going on is also what makes me like being in the kitchen.

I believe this role reversal is fine and works in many family's. This novelis like one big example that this role reversal works. My life is also an example that this ole reversal works.

This novel "An American Role-Reversal" has many examples of family's that have reversed the roles. Kaththea Stagg is n Army Capt. that has a stay at home husband who was more than happ to stay at home with the kids while his wife was at work. Her hsband quit his job as an electrition to stay at home with the kids.Tom and Kaththea are happy and financially stable. Kim Spight is a single mother with one daughter. Kim has raised her all alone and managed tomove up in a corpoate company. If these two women can have a successful carreer and have children who are a success, then why can't other family's?

I believe my thesis is true and has many example in many different family's. My family is a perfect example of this roe revesal. My parents are divorced so at home my father is the hose wife and father.
My brother, sister, and I are doing well with this role reversal. If my family can do it why can't any other family?

My family is a success and there is a deffinant role reversal in our family. The two examples I used from the novel are successful and they have definantly reversed the roles in there family's. If these three family's can succeed using this role reversal I believe just about any family can do it.
